Vintage Indie Review

The French Macaroon...


Well, it's time to talk about the new love in our lives. The French Chocolate Macaroon has become a wonderful new treat at The Ruby Pear Tea Parlor.
Saturdays are going to be known as
"French Macaroon Day"
with only a handful of them available for purchase. They are desirable, delicious, delightful and we dare you to eat just one! We have worked on this recipe until we have them just as close to a perfect Parisian Macaroon as possible. The oldest tearoom in Paris, Laduree, is our inspiration and we someday hope to make it there in person to try there own version, but until then, we hope that you will love ours as much as we do. Our French Chocolate Macaroons are $1.75 each and are about 2" in diameter which is twice the size of what we have seen with the imported Macaroons around town. We will make ours fresh each week and have around 25-30 to sell each Saturday.

Mother's Day













Oh what a lovely day we had with our 41 guests! Our tables were dressed in the colors of spring and a menu of delicious food was enjoyed by all. Our menu consisted of the following items:

Fresh Green Salad with Orange Slices, Strawberries and Almonds
Chicken and Vegetable Tea Cup Pies with a Heart of Puff Pastry
Italian Herb Biscuits with Herbed Egg Salad
Pear shaped Tea Sandwiches with Cucumber and Herb Cream Cheese
Vanilla Fat Rascal Cookies made into Mother's Day Hats
Chocolate Covered Strawberries
White Chocolate Cashew Scones, Cinnamon Chip Scones and Dark Chocolate Orange Scones
French Chocolate Macaroons
Lemon Curd, Strawberry Jam and Clotted Cream
Choice of Hot or Iced Tea from our Tea Listing

A porcelain flower box was also given to each person as a small token of our appreciation. We had many, many wonderful guests who delighted us with laughter and enjoyment of each other's company. We could not have asked for a better day!

Many thanks to our terrific Ruby Pear team who worked tirelessly to make all of our guests feel special. We could not do it without you and won't ever be able to say thank you enough!

We did lose one team member in the past couple of weeks due to the fact that she and her husband are smack dab in the middle of trying to get their new winery operational. We wish Becky and Brian all the best in their adventure with their Country Moon Winery. Prune Becky, prune! Please stay tuned for the news of their opening date. We will keep you posted!

We have a video!

Please click play! We are so fortunate to have had a video shot by Bill at the Noblesville Daily Times. He was really nice and created a small video for us that is currently featured on www.hamiltoncountytoday.com. My Sister-In-Law Robin, the new internet goddess, has so graciously linked it to our blog and you will see it in the upper right hand corner of our blog page.

I must say that we have been so very very lucky to meet such wonderful people in the media willing to really work with us to create an article, a video, or some format of free press. We could not ask for more. We are so so thankful!

I will be writing more a week from today with photographs also of our Mother's Day High Tea that will be held on Saturday. We have 44 people scheduled...now, that's a full house! So exciting.
